A Etihad Airways flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a warning indicator activated in the cockpit. The Etihad flight EY450 was travelling from Abu Dhabi to Sydney, but detoured via Adelaide while crew checked the aircraft. All 349 passengers on board the Boeing 777 passenger jet disembarked when the plane landed at 5a.m. (6.30pm GMT) on Saturday. In the video, firefighters are seen carefully inspecting the plane. The warning indicator was activated by a technical fault with a cargo hold air recirculation fan, Etihad Airways told Reuters . The airline said passengers would make their onward journeys via other airlines due to crew rest requirements. It added: "Etihad Airways apologies for the inconvenicence. The safety of our guests and crew is of paramount importance." The return flight from Sydney to Abu Dhabi has been cancelled, and passengers are due to be put on later services. This is the second incident this year for Etihad on the flight between Abu Dhabi and Sydney. In July, four men were arrested in Sydney over a terrorist plot to attack the flight, after one of the men sent his unsuspecting brother to catch the flight on July 15 carrying a bomb hidden in a meat-mincer.
